Scotty is definitely one of the most intellectual YouTube mechanics, and I value his opinions and knowledge, and I am definitely looking into one of these oil drain valves

I drive nearly 1, 000 miles (1, 600km) each week. Bought this same brand based on Scotty's review. Easy to install, ensure that you torque the valve to manufacturer specs. I got tired of the original way...quickly! The plastic bag over the filter works out good also.
Edit: I also keep the original plug in the glovebox and a 15mm wrench, just in case the valve fails.

These types of drains have been used on aircraft for years. I didn’t know one was available for my vehicles. This looks like a high quality one with more than one way to seal. I’m going to get mine on order today. Thanks Scotty

The ValvoMax oil drain system might be the best tip I ever got online. Thanks, Scotty! I do oil changes on 6 family vehicles, and every one of them has a ValvoMax..

I've used the Fumoto valve for years without any problems but I'll keep this one in mind next time. Thx for showing me i have an option.

If I bought this tool, I'd miss fishing the drain plug out of the pan full of dirty oil by hand.

I’ve been thinking about these lately. My friend has one with spring valve. I wasn’t sold on it and wondered if there was something better. You definitely looked this one over and pointed out some good points. Thanks for the product review.

As a mechanic, I have seen many drain plug assemblies. This one is really cool and clean. Now we need a way to make the filter removal less messy. Good job Scotty, keep up the good work!

It will also prevent the wind from blowing a stream of oil all over the dang place.

I can't believe that Scotty paid $35 for this more than he paid for the last Toyota he is driving.

I use a Fumoto oil drain plug and a piece of 3/8" air hose to drain my Super Duty and love it. No more socket wrench and getting hot oil on myself.

Looks like a high quality valve. I've been running petcock drain valves for the last fourteen years on multiple vehicles without issue. I like the petcock design better because it doesn't require an extra piece to open the valve. I can see me losing the valve opener.

As Scotty gets wiser, his hairline moves back to make room for his growing brain.

I put these on all 4 of my vehicles. The oil comes out a tad slower than before, but way way way less mess. And that saves time and effort. Great little invention.

Wow! That device looks very similar to what some of us used on the Oshkosh Mk.48 LVS, along with other vehicles & equipment. Back in my military days, (25 years ago) it had no official nomenclature and certainly wasn't a standard issue item. Apparently, it was acquired by some of the NCO Marines working in the motorpool who had close ties with the machinists. They were very proactive and constantly thinking of ways to improvise tools & methods to enhance performance of equipment, as well as workshop efficiency. There were a lot of Navy Achievement Medals earned back then!

I've had a FRAM suredrain system for years which is pretty much thw same thing and it works great and leaves no mess however if it has been left for a while it can be hard to get the dust cap off so it might be an idea to file down two sides of it or something so you can get a tool onto it to grip it better, but i definitely recommend it if you dont want oil pissing everywhere during an oil change
