Nice. Thanks for the coverage Matt. Wow mid-4's 0-60 is pretty tight.

I like the retro styling. I think it looks great, and it sounds like it has good performance, so if the price is right, it could be a great choice. I would prefer a V8, but again, if the price is right, why not?

My 2000 formula V8 only puts out 305hp. Now a 4 cylinder turbo can leave my 350 in the dust. Amazing times!

I think this is a great idea. Really cool to see Ford keep the manual alive in a car advertised towards younger buyers. Love it

This Mustang would sell like hotcakes and they wouldn't be able to keep them on lots if they added SVO badges to them.

pretty fast little 2.3 I wished they would have done a SVO model

So I get the performance pack with my '18 ecoboost and they come out with the high performance pack. I'd buy this one but then they'd come out with the super high performance pack. And so on...

keeping that boost at peak with a 10 speed is going to be nice. Mods for the RS now can get put on this. Big turbo versions coming soon from the hard core fans.

Been seeing a lot of people saying Ford should've called this EcoBoost an SVO, or at least put SVO badges on it with the HiPo package. I'm personally glad they didn't for several reasons, the first of which is that you can get the HiPo package with a convertible and with an auto transmission. The original SVO was only ever offered in coupe (technically hatch) form, and only ever with a manual transmission. The SVO was also its own model, much like the current Bullitt, GT350, and upcoming GT500.

Bottom line for me is that the SVO was purpose built. This HiPo package is very cool, but Ford had to dial back some of the power from the RS to make the engine automatic-friendly. I feel like in order to have a true SVO revival, the Mustang would need the complete enthusiast treatment: Coupe only, manual only, all of the performance goodies standard, rear seats OPTIONAL, and be its own trim.

I'm hoping that at premium trim, with the high performance package, the Mustang EcoBoost stays under $36, 000... otherwise, that base GT with 100 more horses will start looking much more delicious.

If price is right, this is Ford’s killer app. Not in love with the retro styling but again, for the right price, I can dig it.

Hey Matt, the ford performance page on their site says and I quote: 'The new EcoBoost Handling Package is available on the 2020 Mustang EcoBoost fastback coupe with 2.3L High Performance Package with either 6 speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.' So it seem that the auto is available even when you fully load the HPP. I had previously had a bad feeling they may have manual only in the highest optioned HPP, but thankfully they keep it either transition no matter what. A good bit of news for a person that has trouble driving manual after my brain surgeries. After those, auto transmition is way easier now in days for me. Now if only they offered the Bulitt in auto and manual, as well and not only manual.

My guess is they are saving the SVO name for an even more hardcore version. I'd like to see a 375hp SVO version with 200-300lbs dropped in weight savings and wider front fender/bumper similar to the gt350.

I like that it's quick and succinct, and the fact that you know Mustangs like the back of your hand helps a lot too, hehe.

I’ll definitely be ordering one in that grabber lime color

Maybe I can settle for this instead of the GT500 😂😂😂
