In this video I share my care tips for the String of Hearts, also called, Chain of Hearts or Rosary Vine and its botanical name the Ceropegia Woodii.

I’m also going to propagate the String of Hearts through cuttings and water. When the roots have grown, I will plan mail him to a few of my IG followers to share the love.

The String of Hearts is one of the most popular and trendy houseplants today. Really easy to care for and even easier to propagate. Enjoy

I thought you’re video was great. And I could see the nodes on the string of hearts. You explained it very well. Thanks for sharing.

I love your videos!!! Would you be open to filming a video on what to do when you repot once the roots are long enough?

I just bought two little string of hearts in my local garden centre and one looked so full, but it was actually a bunch of loose strands sitting on top of the soil and only two strands that had roots. So now i have them all sitting in water. The waiting begins.

I love your videos 💕

I like it when you say “ cut these two hearts off” .... not 2 leaves off 😍❤️♥️

Great tips! I found it helpful to know you should allow quite a bit of root growth before planting . Last winter I couldn’t find this plant anywhere even online so I ordered seeds. I was doubtful but they did grow and I now have a plant with approximately 16-18 inch strings. I’m going to propagate a few soon to bulk it up a bit. Thanks!

So I got a string of hearts a couple of weeks ago I showed my husband yours last night in one of your videos and his jaw just dropped. 😂😂 he was like whoa that’s serious. Trying to get him into getting some plants for himself.

I have gone mad watching your string of hearts and I finally received my first cuttings in the mail about a week ago! They have been in water and I can see that they are already making roots and I just cant wait! 😍

This video is great. I’ve been rooting a 4 leave string of hearts cutting. Now it’s growing it’s 7th leaf, and 3 roots but I’ll wait till they’re longer before I plant them in soil. Thanks for the tips!

It makes me so happy when I hear about a thriving plant. I think I'm just happy they're being well (not) taken care of and happy.

I prefer to use sphagnum moss for propagating soh. I find that each cutting forms it's own little bulb & roots, therefore the cuttings have a much higher success rate. Often you will have to leave some moss on the roots when transferring to soil because the roots cling to the moss.

I scratch with a pin the stem so that the roots grow quicker. Seems to work.

Thank you very helpful, I just received 4 cuttings from a highly rated seller on Ebay, in LA and it so happens that I purchased the heat pack as well, since I live in the northeast, well the seller sent the heat pack in a separete box that was tape to the box of that where the cutting were, not sure if the seller understand the kind of cold they can be exposed too, anyways, I just placed them in water for rooting, hope they all come back to looking better than they do now, thanks again

Question!
If I only propagate one strand and put in soil, will any more strands pop out or will that one strand just get longer and longer?

I watched this in Lockdown about 5 months ago after my string of hearts fell from a tiny high shelf slicing off half it's length in the radiator below....

Thanks to this video I now have two big pots full of new plants! I took cuttings and that romped away and made their funny little vase like flowers.
I love them! Made some for Mum, too. Thanks very much. I tried layering, too...Both work well.
