What she's saying is so true. When there's less available we all have more to talk about, more to relate to each other with, "we have the same heroes, " as she eloquently put it. This age of mass media is not benefiting us as humans, although it certainly grants us a sense of immediate gratification. We have to build a future that allows us to pay close attention to our immediate community, and is built to make us prosper in all ways (health and happiness included, not only financially). I'm speaking as an American living in a large urban area, but I'm confident that this applies to all American cities, which really do set the tone of the world.
