Actress Renee Zellweger returns to the role of clumsy-but-lovable Bridget Jones in the new film “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” which revolves around Bridget being unsure who the father of her unborn child is. The actress tells TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie that the cast didn’t know themselves who the father was as they worked on the movie. She also talks about the decision to let Bridget be free of her weight issues in the new sequel, and about her recent Huffington Post essay about excessive focus on women.

She's so good at an English accent that she sounds like she's putting on an American one. I'm from the south of England where Bridget Jones is from and she does a better English accent than me genius. She also gets the English humour, she a fantastic charismatic actress!!

I literally can’t get over her accent. I’m English and I usually can sniff out someone doing an English accent but she’s did it seamlessly. Her real voice is just madness

I find it disheartening to think people have such a negative attitude about aging. Renee is simply accepting the fact that he has matured. Not everyone ages the same and for people to write such mean spirited things about someone is just wrong. I couldn't imagine how she felt when she read some of the hurtful things. She has always been a good actress and I will continue to support her.

Her accent sounds soooo much more Southern here than I'm used to hearing from other interviews

The reality is... we all age everyday and will get old & die. Renee looks good and she looks her age.

wait, is Renee American and from the South? I'm guessing this due to her southern accent here. I've only seen her in the Bridget Jones films and had assumed that she was British lol. cool

I love how she's so inspiring when talking about weight like it doesn't matter what you look like that's you.

If only everyone on the internet was accountable for all the horribly mean things they have written about people they don't even know on these platforms....

Apparently Hugh Grant didn’t know Renee was American until the first films wrap party when she spoke in her “normal “ voice
