She was my first planes-walker.

I was given the opportunity to build my own deck from my cousin’s trash cards. He said that if I could build a deck that could beat his competition sack then I could keep the deck. He let me alone for two hours to read all of his cards and build a deck. After he returned he looked at my choice cards and was intrigued by what I was doing. He said that he would have expected me to build a deck with a specific strategy in mind. I told him that I did I wanted to build a deck that would teach me to play the game. I built a Blue Green deck with a lot of counter-spells, creature buffs, mana ramps, strong costly monsters, and cheap creatures with infect.
He liked what I was trying to do. He figured that I wouldn’t be able to win so he gave me a planes walker and said if you can last long enough to be competitive with my deck, you can keep it. You probably won’t win many competitive games but you will learn to play with that deck which is a noble goal for a first time build, and I think you built it well. I think I lasted nine turns and was one more attack with infect away from winning before I lost. He had a bad starting hand, so the second time we played I lost after 3 or 4 turns, but he thought it did well enough to merit the gift. He threw in a sideboard as well. As I got better and played around with other players, people have helped me edit it.
