I am curious how we defined the so-called "citizen journalist?" Are the rioters who took videos in the Capital Hill incident considered "citizen journalists" and be given the protection accorded to journalists? So, if a Chinese breaks Chinese law in China (including Hong Kong), then that person is called a "citizen journalist." However, if an American breaks similar law in the U.S. during the Capital Hill incident, then that American is called a "rioter" or a "insurrectionist."

Contrast with the 'western' part of the world says everything. It's group thinking vs individual. We in 'western' world cultivate that individualism like a virtue. 'Success' on individual level above the community. Now we reap rewards.

The epicenter was able to thrive like this only because of China following rules and being prepared. Unfortunately the US and most ‘Western’ countries can’t seem deal with this effectively. Ridiculous.
