Glasgow, the last chance Summit ?
Показать описание
The climate conference that opens in Glasgow on November 1st sounds like the last chance to keep global warming below two degrees. Beyond this limit, the effects of climate change will no longer be controllable, according to scientists. So what measures should be taken in Glasgow? What are the chances of reaching an agreement that commits all countries? And how should the effort be shared between the industrialized countries and the others? And what about Switzerland? How can we achieve carbon neutrality when the people have just rejected the CO2 law? The stakes are enormous at all levels.
These are some of the questions that will be discussed during this “climate special” session that brings together high-level representatives of various governments, renowned scientists, committed politicians as well as young and former climate activists at the Swiss Press Club.
The panels will be moderated by Kasmira Jefford, Editor-in-Chief of Geneva Solutions, Frédéric Julliard, Editor-in-Chief of Tribune de Genève and Pierre Ruetschi, Executive Director of the Geneva Press Club.
