COP26 climate summit begins in Glasgow

As the conference formally began here on the banks of the Clyde, hundreds of passengers hoping to travel to the climate summit by train were stranded after a tree fell on the tracks halting services from London.

In Glasgow itself the UK's grassroots climate justice movement, the COP26 Coalition held an opening ceremony with activists, young people and trade unions from around the globe.

Avoiding meat and dairy could reduce your carbon footprint from food by 73%.

Eating a vegan diet is the “single biggest way” to reduce your environmental impact on earth, a new study suggests.
Researchers at the University of Oxford found that cutting meat and dairy products from your diet could reduce an individual's carbon footprint from food by up to 73 per cent.

If everyone stopped eating these foods, they found that global farmland use could be reduced by 75 per cent, an area equivalent to the size of the US, China, Australia and the EU combined.

Not only would this result in a significant drop in greenhouse gas emissions, it would also free up wild land lost to agriculture, one of the primary causes for mass wildlife extinction.

Britain’s vegan population has increased from 150, 000 to 542, 000 in the space of a decade.

 Netflix is documenting the damage animal agriculture does to the environment, or meat-eating does to human health, or exposing gory scenes in slaughterhouses and factory farms. The 2005 film Earthlings, with its harrowing, hidden-camera footage of animal suffering, was the epiphany that led people to switch to veganism.

The high street is adapting with incredible speed. Big chains such as Marks & Spencer and Pret a Manger have introduced vegan ranges, Wagamama has a new vegan menu, Pizza Hut recently joined Pizza Express and Zizzi in offering vegan pizzas, while last year Guinness went vegan and stopped using fish bladders in its brewing process, after two and a half centuries.

I find it odd that there are only 3 comments on this video and one is not about the video at all. The answer to this climate change issue is not what humans can do or not do to physically fix it. The earth is groaning in birthing pains due to rampant and unmitigated sin on this planet. However, what “is” necessary by humans is sincere repentance in their hearts. Man’s (people’s) strong need of greed and power (sin against God) will prevent this repentance, as is stated in the Bible. Therefore, the weather will continue its increasing unpredictability and the earth will cry out to the Lord, from the inside out, as also stated in the Bible. Each person is responsible to God for their own actions. Repent while there’s still time to do so. Time is short and the Lord’s return to impose His justice is near. Very near!
