A beautiful new lap harp with extra bass strings!! Join me as I open it up and try it out for the first time. This harp has 4 extra bass strings compared to most lap harps, and a nice large sound box which gives the sound depth and fullness... it sounds similar to a floor harp! Let me know if you have any questions, because I'm planning a comparison video between this harp and some other lap harps. Thank-you for the amazing gift, Marini Made Harps!

Loved watching this - took me back to when I got my Bass Lap harp almost 5 years ago. Like you folks, I couldn’t stop stroking the wood, it was so beautifully made. I love the bass so much, I’ve started tuning the low F down to E. It handles that extra half step just fine, the lever gives me back an F, and I find I use a low E far more than I use a low F#.

Gorgeous harp and beautiful sound. The bubble wrap looked like such great fun! I never thought of jumping on it😂 Next time 😊

Thank you, Christy-Lyn. I am still working through the content on your Beginner Harp program, though I have been a beginner now for a few years ;-) I am looking to upgrade from my Sharpsicle and am considering this particular harp. Thank you for playing it for us. I love the deep tones!

I got to play some Marini harps for the first time at Sommerset last year. They're lovely! I also resonated a lot with what you said, Christy-Lyn, about it being nice to have a small harp to play at home - I have lots of lovely floor harps in my studio, but it's really nice to have something a bit more portable just to play for fun in the evenings, or on the front porch or whatnot.

Thank you for sharing this with us! I would love for you to do a video comparing this one to the harpsicle harp.

Thank you! I've got a Marini Bass Minstrel 27 with Marini collapsible wood stand. As a retired person no longer into lifting heavy harps, I love mine for its very full sound in a compact, extremely lightweight harp. Another bonus, mine stays very well in tune even with temperature changes; it behaves. Took it on snowy Christmas eve to church, a 20 min carr ride. At church it didn't require a retune like my other harp would demand after home, car, church transport. Unlike large soundbox on yours, BM27 has a compact straight soundbox. I love using extended bass to accompany my voice. I would love if you'd do a small harp comparison. Always wondered what the bass Marini with curved ergonomic soundbox sounded like so thank you for letting me hear one through your video. I'm watching you from the USA. Enjoy your lovely new harp! ❤

That’s lovely Christy-Lyn! That’s quite a lot of sound out of a 28 string harp; how unique and beautiful! That stand was quite special looking too. Lol about the bubble wrap😅!

Wonderful! I love my Marini. Mine has 26 strings. I wish I had just a few more, but I love it just the same. It does have a very full sound and stays in tune quite well. You are going to love it! Congratulations!

Beautiful! I haven't seen the stand with it before. I'm looking forward to seeing the harp comparisons, which is always fun. ♥️

Haha, I love your thoughts about the pillowcase! :D Torn between protecting the wood or protecting your curls... I can relate! ;) The wood work is gorgeous. And yes, a lap harp comparison video would be great!

Oh wow!!! That's a harp I'd love to try. It's beautiful! Same number of strings as my new lap harp (a "Gimli" from German harp maker Klaus Regelsberger), but a third lower still. I looked into the Marini Bass lap harp before I bought mine, but I didn't dare to order one from overseas sight unseen.
Congratulations!!

My first harp was a 28 string Christina by Triplett Harps here in California. I love the design of the Marini stand and soundbox. It won't be long and you'll actually have a lap for it to sit on! Be well!

Love this harp, Bought that same one last year. The extra bass strings really distinguish this lap harp.

What a lovely harp! You may want to look into getting something like strap locks. I played guitar for years and never played without them. They secure the straps to the harp so it doesn't slip out.

Beautiful new harp addition, I'm so happy for you! I recently started trying to teach myself the harp, thank you so much for your channel! I got a flatsicle with 4 bass strings, I love the depth of sound they add. This one you just got is amazing!

Nice addition! I recently bought a Musicmakers Sonnet. It's 29 strings, and I had it strung A-A rather than C-C and I love the added two bass notes! I have been pleasantly surprised with the tone and how comfortable it is to play. These harp builders are doing incredible things!
