I've always loved the "even apeldoorn bellen" commercials, that really just became it's own Dutch punchline. Whenever something completely went to shit "ah fuck it, just call apeldoorn".

The two cleaning ladies took the backdoor cleaned the entire house but the police were at the front making sure nobody came in to destroy the traces of most proberbly a murder.

Even Apeldoorn bellen = an Insurance Company called Centraal Beheer - Achmea. Originally their HQ was in a city called Apeldoorn. (Their slogan roughly translates as "Just call Apeldoorn")

first one was he must be insured at LLoyd. the popsicle was "hey it's green. now it's red again". the guy in the ambulance had a broken leg, but the new ambulance had a parking assist that sounds like a heart monitor

Centraal beheer is an insurance company here in the Netherlands . The womans where cleaning a crime scene while they where not supose to be there so they cleaned all the evidence away . When something goes wrong we always say * even Apeldoorn bellen* as joke . They always make this kind of commercials and i love it .

There's a few commercials that always come to mind when thinking of funny Dutch commercials, 'even Apeldoorn bellen' is definitely on top of the list.

'Centraal Beheer Achmea' has some of the best commercials.
The one with the aquarium is one of my favorites. It's a commercial for the yellow pages - the telephone book that lists 'every business in the country'. The guy in the electric wheelchair is leisurely calling companies like 'hey, do you have a piece of glass about 3 by 6 meters? No? Alright. Hey, do you have a piece of glass 3 by 6 meters? Only opaque?' "They only have opaque!" (to the other guy, who nods fervently) 'Nah, they'll notice.' 'Okay, so how much would that cost? Is that all inclusive? Oh, well, I'll think about it.'

Dutch commercials often rely on visual gags but I agree some could use subtitles. The "Matt Damon" commercial was an anti smoking one.
Centraal Beheer translates to Central Management and their commercials are legendary. They left the best ones out.

The commercials all take place in foreign countries except the cleaning ladies, they're Potuguese (or Brazilian, they speak Portuguese) but it's set in the Netherlands. The ambulance drivers are Finnish or Estonian and the Asian guy is probably Chinese, we don't understand any of that either (well, we have subtitles but not for the Asian guy because it doesn't matter).

The commercial with the shark tank is about the yello pages for looking up business . In this case the man was searching for glaziers for a double-glazed window of 6x8 meters, the first call: they only had opaque glass, the second call: they could be there quickly but charged extra for putty

The commercials that say “even Apeldoorn bellen” are ads by insurance provider Achmea / Centraal Beheer. Their head office is in the town of Apeldoorn, so “even Apeldoorn bellen”, better give Apeldoorn a call..

In the Netherlands we don, t go to the toilet during the commercials but when the programs start again.
