Let's Talk About CLONE CONSOLES - Retro Raider

Clones consoles have been around since the first generations of video game consoles.
Pong units from different brands in the 70s, then the 8bit and 16bit generations with plug and play consoles, Famiclones, Family Games etc.
Nowadays, with the rising popularity of Retro Gaming, the multi clone consoles market is stronger than ever, with an overwhelming variety.
In this video, Im showing and talk a little bit about the clone consoles I have in my collection.

Loved this video man. I’m a fan of Retrobit. I have their retro portable and it’s super fun. Friday, I picked up a copy of Batman Returns, and Chrono Trigger on SNES. I also completed the Castlevania NES trilogy by grabbing a copy of Dracula’s Curse. It was one hell of a retro Friday. I did own the Retron 3 for a while, which I enjoyed very much, but after picking up an Anolog Suoer NT I gave the Retron away to a good friend.

Great vid, Johnny! I don't have any clone console. Never really felt the need to have them. I love using my home-made arcade for all those systems and games from the 80s and 90s, right 'til the PS1. I have megs and megs of ROMs from all those old systems. I'm not a huge collector of cartridges. Now, if there was a clone console that could read CD-ROMs and CD based games, well, I would be all over it! But, even so, I would love to have a Retron 5 to play my (few) carts.

I have quite a few clone consoles. Over the last few years though, I have gotten into FPGA consoles. Clone consoles are fun to collect, in my opinion. Original hardware is great too. I love having all these options to play retro video games!

I just recently got the 2019 version of the Retron 5 and I agree, it is improved!

I've seen those mega joy famiclones at a mall not far from my house. That hyperkin adaptor for the Game Gear makes me want one. Ever heard of a Micro Genius?

I have one of those 100 game handhelds as well... but not from Pizza hut...lol Also, I have been considering the Retron 5 for a while... something I can plug into my big TV just so I don't have to keep changing out systems :) Great video bud!

Oh, nothing bested the famiclone in Portugal back in the day. A lot of famiclones could play NES games with a converter.

I've really, really thought about picking up the Retron 77, just for convenience sake. I need to look into if there are any compatibility issues with games.

Is the MASTER SYSTEM still big over there? My mates think I am crazy but I honestly prefer the 8 and 16 bit systems I am glad I kept most of my stuff from years back as the cost of old games online is insane.

I'm going with the Megajoy 2, what better disappointment is their then to get a N64 controller and find out it only plays JPN NES games you got to love the irony of it all.

Never had a clone console until a few months ago when I bought at a car boot sale (feira da bagajeira) for 3 euro the Atari 2600 clone 😉
