Was Mark Written First? What is the Source of the Gospel? (An Introduction to Mark)

Here we are going to endeavor to present a commentary on the Gospel of Mark, which we pray is the fruitful beginning of many such projects. The reason we have chosen to present Mark before Matthew is not because we believe it was penned first, but because it shares most of its accounts with Matthew and Luke. By presenting Mark’s comparatively concise gospel first, we hope to establish a foundation for future commentaries while also avoiding any unnecessary repetition.

While many modern critics try to reposition Mark as the earliest gospel, scrutiny exposes their hypocritical methods as nothing more than vain attempts to undermine Christianity. The claims of the scoffers are entirely unfounded, yet unfortunately popular. This video begins by deconstructing the misconceptions about Mark, and then discusses the eyewitness source of the gospels. We will demonstrate how the preponderance of evidence points to Mark being written third, address the so-called "synoptic problem", and from there delve into the origin and composition of Mark in detail.

A new project. Been excited for this one for a while, and I have other installments lined up for the coming weeks, Yahweh willing.

There's a large focus on dismantling the hypocrisy of 'Marcan Priority' in this one, which is just another tired lie contrived to undermine Christianity. I pray the video sufficiently demonstrates that Mark was by all means written third, not first.

Something which probably deserves more attention is that while 97% of the accounts in Mark are also found in Matthew or Luke, the passages in Mark are often longer and more descriptive. This aligns with the early testimonies that Mark is the written preservation of Peter’s preaching, as the language is often pleonastic and indicative of an oral source. It would also explain why Mark is so fast-paced and action focused, with no genealogy or lengthy dialogues, as those are difficult to memorize and relate extemporaneously. A few other aspects of Mark are discussed as well, such as the Hebraisms and Latinisms, and John Mark's relationship with Peter.

I'm very excited to be embarking on a commentary, and I pray that the series is edifying for our brethren! Praise Yahweh the God of Israel!

26:30 Enemies of Christ? Fund ideas? Stranglehold over academia, media, and politics?

Sounds anti-Semitic. 😉

This just shows how it's impossible to use logic with magical thinking.
