Deltarune - WHO IS EVERYMAN?

Everyman is a mysterious character from Deltarune Chapter 2 who originated from Undertale in the True Lab. Who is Everyman?

Recently Deltarune Chapter 2 was officially released and with it came many different Easter Eggs. One in which is a popup that includes Everyman that Kris encounters. A lot of people were freaking out about this Easter Egg and today I'm going to explain why. This is Everyman but who is Everyman? In fact he originated in a True Lab battle against Reaper Bird in Undertale and in the game files he is labelled as Strangeman. In fact, Toby Fox confirmed his name only on Twitter! Amazing! Everyman also made appearances in Deltarune Chapter 1 during the Jevil fight.

This is not a Deltarune theory or an Undertale theory or a set of theories and I am not Game Theory. This is a Who is Everyman in Deltarune? Everyman is a mysterious character like W.D Gaster and Sans and Papyrus. He originated in the True Laboratory which is under Alphys lab. He was in the Reaper Bird fight but only shows up on occasion. Everyman may be linked to W.D Gaster and the Gaster Followers. Which is related to Sans which is related to Megalovania. He appeared during a popup in Deltarune Chapter 2 and in Chapter 1 he appeared during the Jevil fight which is the equilvalent to the Spamton NEO fight. However Spamton isn't in this video so don't expect Mike or big shot. Everyman is following the main cast members including Kris Susie Noelle and Ralsei. He also appears during Deltarune Snowgrave which is like Undertale Genocide but with Noelle and Kris. He doesn't appear in Undertale Genocide which is like Deltarune Snowgrave. TobyFox gave this character a name on Twitter. Sans isn't in this video so don't expect Megalovania and I did not use the Undertale OST or Deltarune Soundtrack in this video. Do you think Everyman has relation to W.D Gaster and Sans? Or is he just an Easter Egg?

Maybe if Gaster is everywhere and nowhere then Everyman would be everyone but nobody at the same time. Because if he was the knight it would be fitting because he's someone who only works for occasions. When asked about the knight, Spamton first apologizes to someone and then points out that there is too much excess vacation time. Someone who only works on occasions certainly has enough time to look at what his work cause.

I like the idea of it being its own entity, but I have to bring up an alternate interpretation. We've only seen artistic depictions of Everyman in the Light world while in the dark world he appears in attacks. It could be that Everyman is like Darkners in that he is the product of Lightner Imagination. He may be just a doodle that people like to draw, like Killroy or the "Cool S".

then the darkworld had all the room for him, with a call back in the alleyway, and I often associate alleys with darkness

I believe Everyman to be a separate entity that is guiding Kris through their story. The dark world in the supply closet couldn't have made itself, right? We also know that Kris couldn't have made the fountain within the supply closet because they were surprised to see it when they and Susie first approached it.
Everyman is leading Kris to learn about the Dark World, their abilities, and more importantly...
The man who speaks in hands.
It was implied that he was shattered across time and space, right? Well, does that have to apply only to the universe of Undertale? I believe Everyman is aware of Gaster and is trying to piece his remnants back together from every potential universe, all leading up to the culmination of his being in the bunker to the south of the town.

Maybe Everyman is the guy behind the tree and not Gaster. It does say 'Well, there is a man here'.

when I first knew Everyman appearing a lot in Deltarune, my first thought is that he is connected with Gaster somehow, and knowing he originated in the True Lab makes me think a lot more. maybe even Alphys knows about him as she was the royal scientist in Undertale after Gaster (it could be her that drew him on the wall...?) and the second thought is that he is someone's character in the light world or some TV show/videogame or internet character that makes people in the light world know him. i kept thinking he appeared a lot because he was drawn on the wall, and possibly being that one drawing in the unused classroom in chapter 1 and probably a known character on the internet which makes him somehow end up in the Dark World too since things in the Dark World are based off of things/items, like how chapter 1 was cards and games and chapter 2 was the internet. but for now, I just think he appears alot because he is a well known character for lightners which make him appear in the Dark World somehow. I still think theres something behind this character, him secretly appearing in parts of the game is.. odd. but it's still very interesting.

Ok, but what if he’s just a generic man? Like he was said to just be “every man” who all aspire to be, he’s just that respectable but generic guy. People spray-paint the most random things, so the thing in the alley isn’t all too important. That’s also why he is seen in both worlds, he’s just a normal generic guy. He can be thought of by everybody, he’s the equivalent of a stickman or a person frequently seen in stock photos. That’s why he’s everywhere, because he’s “every man”. That’s my theory.
