Shimano Twin Power SW VS Van Staal VR!

preview_player
Показать описание
Shimano and Van Staal are definitely two key brands in the spinning reel market, especially when it comes to big tarpon, snook, and offshore fishing.

Van Staal is hugely popular in the north east for surf fishing. The incredibly sealed nature of their reels and utilitarian all metal build makes them hold up in the surf and sand very well.

Shimano is a technological powerhouse. The engineering that goes into everything they make is unreal. From ci4+, infinity drive, and x protect, to the hagane gearing, you can be sure that every aspect of the Twin Power SW is ready for winching in some big fish

The SW TP body is fully Hagane metal, from body and spool, the only part that is CI4+ is the knob handle

Different applications honestly. Van Staal is what I went if I’m rock hopping and dunking my reel regularly. The Twin Power is light years smoother and more fun to fish so if I’m on a boat im choosing that reel over VS 100 times out of 100.

I have them both VR150 and TP10000, bot are excellent. I trust my VS underwater but not my Shimano. The TP10000 is full aluminum chassis.

Iv got the VR51, Visser #4 and the IRT 400. Iv cried 3 times lol. All three awesome reels, I put them up against any reel!

The VS is like a splitting axe compared to TP that is like a samurai sword, they have different purposes

I've had a few van staals, every one had a jerky drag. They're good for montauk skishers. Very specialized. I'll take a saltiga or saragosa. Twin powers are great too. The made in china thing bothers me with van staal now. Wouldn't buy from our enemy.

If you are very picky on smooth feel, ticking sound, tight tolerance n no gear whinny noise when you reel. Then Shimano TP is for you.

If you are not a picky user, any reel is fine

Vs may wins in water protection dept, designe n maintenance, the rest goes for tp

I have the Shimano Twinpower 5000 and it's an awesome 👌 reel. The only thing is I wish they made a same round knobs like van staal.

A bearing on my Van Staal spool went. I had a big fish full drag, just about. Strong lines main line and leader. Took it came some, did that. Van Staal said they had trouble with the VR 50 doing that. They sent me a new one for free. I like the reel. But Im getting a Visser. The newest model.

Nice review!

What’s a better reel, Gosa SW or Twin Power SW?

Trying to see where the benefits are?

I've got 3 Stella's. A pre 2018 model, an 18 and the 2022 model. I'll buy the new Stella when it comes. And I have a Van Staal VR 50. I take the Van Stall to salt water. Because the Shimano SW is water resistant I bought a Van Staal. A Van Staal get laid in the sand.
