I all ways replace all the bulbs from the beginning. It is easier to start fresh than chase down problems. When it comes to the bucket, sand them on the inside and clean, then paint with chrome paint. This will make them brighter. You can put an adapter in the bulb housing and use slide in builds. Always start at the ignition switch, the wiring harness under the steering wheel and the wires in the steering wheel.

If you ever feel like showing off, you can fix the taillights on my 67 cougar.😊

I have a 64 fairlane - the lights work okay, my problem is that the holes for the bulb sockets are mangled up (not from anything I did, but due to some past attempt at a repair/bulb replacement). This results in a poor ground for the socket because the socket won't securely seat in the hole.

Until I can source replacement of taillight buckets, I've rtv'd the socket to the bucket, and used a hose clamp to secure a male connector to the socket, and run a wire from the connector to a convenient ground location (my sockets don't have a place to connect a ground wire). That fixed the grounding issue, but I still want to replace the buckets so I can get clean socket holes (and eliminate the ad-hoc ground wires).

Have a Galaxie. My t/s problem was a corroded fuse panel.

How old is that Fluke meter? I've never seen one that wasn't yellow.
