Actually, the best tip is to just draw what you want to draw

Hard disagree because there are many artists that i love and know that everyone irl supports but when it comes to what people like after all these years it has became clear that people online enjoy digital drawings more, i myself am doing both but i do notice that digital gets way better with the audience. And the fact remains that if you're drawing what you like sometimes this won't coincide with masses unfortunately. Numbers dont mean how skillful you are because im in my finishing year of art school and ive learned pretty much everything, from anatomy, composition etc and there are artists who know way les and make a lot of mistakes in their artwork so basically what i would recommend is choosing what is it that your niche will be and sticking with it social media wise but still making everything you want just not posting everything you've made.

Normally what people want to see is not good art . They will see your art for 2 seconds and scroll to next post .

I have many artist friends who refuse to follow the trends etc. and complain about not getting enough media attention. I think starting out, you should have a few posts that showcase your talent.

Eventually, you should start doing research about what people are interested in, what's popular that week, what's the latest trendy song, artist, idea, and so on.

Another tip would be to engage with other artists in the community, they don't have to be popular accounts, a few collaborations between starter accounts can boost your discoverability.

This is what I've learned from years of posting, trust me it doesn't even matter if you think your skills aren't up to par with some artists, it's all bout engaging with the community!

The issue I have with social media is that because of my work schedule being out of whack and working over 50 hours a week, I don't have the energy to put into my digital art and post regulary. It's been months since I posted anything to my instagram because I have constant fatigue and it shows in my content. But I want to make art something I can make money off of and get noticed for. The only things that worked for me were my harry potter fanart but with all the hatred towards it at the moment I can't post anymore of that type of content without getting haters at my door. So I've been on a hiatus and guess what...it's been hurting me badly in getting noticed. So I think I've lost my chance.

Okay so this is if you wanna be popular and are ok with changing your art for others, not if you don't care about popularity and just wanna post the art that specfically you enjoy making (not to say ppls interests won't line up and you have to be miserable posting popular art)

I tried this and it did nothing. I posted series that not only that I liked that were very popular at the time. For example the owl house was premiering so I posted stuff about the owl house interesting artworks nothing. And I thought my artwork was bad but when I talked to other people they just tell me the algorithm Is bad sometimes and you gotta know how to work it exactly.
