Taken off the album "Origins Of Aggression" (May 23rd, 2025)

"What true metalhead doesn't love MOTÖRHEAD? And we weren't any different. In the early beginnings, I was still very much a novice on guitar and it was Lemmy, Phil, and Eddie that really drove our band in the metal direction from our hardcore punk roots. Myself, I actually learnt the whole "Live At Hammersmith" album - including all the solos - and it greatly improved my personal playing and knowledge of the guitar, it was a real learning curve for ONSLAUGHT and we would always jam the tracks at rehearsal and even sometimes live. So, the reason we chose 'Iron Fist,' apart from it being one of their heaviest, most aggressive songs, we got to tour with MOTÖRHEAD on the "Orgasmatron" tour in Europe 1987. We arrived at the Zurich venue, the first show for us, just as MOTÖRHEAD were about to start soundcheck. Lemmy struts out on the stage, stamps his foot four times and they crash into 'Iron Fist'... WTAF... IT BLEW US ALL CLEAN AWAY... I'd never witnessed anything like it and that moment will never be forgotten and changed our lives as a band."

Lyrics:

Dark night, nothing to see
Invisible hand in front of me
Scared to death, there's someone near
Scared to move but you can't stay here

You know me, evil eye
You know me, prepare to die
You know me, the snakebite kiss
Devil's grip, the iron fist

Flying horse don't make a sound
Flying hooves don't touch the ground
Walk in circle, lose your track
Can't go on but you can't go back

You know me, evil eye
You know me, prepare to die
You know me, you can't resist
Devil's grip, the iron fist

Moon eclipse and you know why
Ghost rider in the sky
Beast of evil, devil's hound
Tooth and claw they pull you down

You know me, evil eye
You know me, prepare to die
You know me, the great white kiss
Devils grip the Iron Fist

I remember seeing these guys supporting Anthrax @ London Astoria in 1986 as a 19 yr old with Sy Keeler who just joined the band. Also saw them @ Hammy Odeon in '87 supporting Agent Steel. Both times I was blown away by their intensity. They had a raw gritty sound and edge the Americans didn't possess. And they played faster too. Kinda hard-core punk meets NWOBHM. Very English. I used to sing all the lyrics to Let There Be Death quite casually on pub crawls with my hippy mates. They all gave my thrash obsession a wide berth! Then we'd land in someone's gaff somewhere, get drunk and stoned and listen to Eloy, Floyd and Bob Marley!!
