By far the best, articulate video on this topic on YouTube! Double the Thumbs up for AF Math & Engineering.
BTW, I put these formulas in a spreadsheet, unfortunately, I'm not coming up with the same results as depicted in the video e.g., . I cannot make out the with of the wall. Is the width of the wall 203mm?
One other thing, when I plug the numbers into the formula qf x b x ((( l - t )÷2 ) - d ), I come up with 68kN/m where you show 47kN/m. Thanks.

8:56 what is that "T" refers to?

Thanks for the video ..In a real life situation, how do you determine the values of Dead and Live Load to start your calculations?

Hi sir. That qall is the soil bearing capacity based on soil report right?

Do you think, you should subtract the weight of footing, the weight of soil above the footing, and if you have any ground floor slab weight?

Great video! Will part 2/2 have an eccentric footing design?

Hi, Do you need to consider the soil on top of the strip footing as surchage force to check the allowable ground bearing capacity is adequate?

Sir please make video on trapezoidal footing example 🙏

Great video! What happens in the case that your width of footing is say 400mm instead of 1.2m, which would give a design shear of less than 0 using the formula (l-t/2) - d. Would you then increase the width until such a point that shear is positive?

Sir, Shoudnt the sheAR be calculate at dv / 2 for 1 way shaer??

Can you design a spread footing like this too? or you have to take the entire length of the spread footing in consider for sample a 2mx2mx0.4m spread footing

hey i would like to know which structural engineering software is mostly used in Canada.

Can you use strip footing in a circular building?

Shouldn't the formula for Vf = qf x b x ((l-t)/2-d) instead of what you have shown which is Vf = qf x b x (l-t)/2 - d

Please confirm if your result from your Vc equations is right. Your d is actually dv correct? I am not getting 123 Kn/m for Vc please respond thank you! Amazing content btw

Thanks very much for the video. I have a question. Your calculated qf = 138 kPa exceeds qallowable = 100 kPa. Is that acceptable?

How do you find the area of the square footing when you're not given the SBC ?

depth of foundation assumed 250 mm, and strap beam calculation for bending moment and shear check, depth of footing checked 0.4 d and 0.72 h that is dv Max, this as per codes or any thump assumption.

great video, but you need to fix your shear force unit where you have 44kn/m to 44kn. thanks mate.

If you include the self-weight of the footing, the bearing pressure would be over the allowable
