Basset hound buffoonery

Polly and Percy join us for some frivolity in the park.

Bassett hounds. The agility and spirited athleticism of a bacon sandwich. And the appetite for 7 of them. Wonderful dogs who regularly enrich the lives of their owners and everyone else who has a treat. Wonderful dogs they are.

Ah Bassett hounds. I grew up with a bi-color then 3 Tri-colors. The dog that trains its owners more then the other way around. They steal the show everywhere they go.

There is nothing cuter than watching bassets play together!

The posse is together with noses to the ground,
their ears perk up with every sound.

They waddle and amble all over the place,
but always they move with athletic Basset grace.

Angus, Percy and Paulie love to frolic and play,
but Millie just loves to sit and enjoy her day.

Across grass and through water, their paws covered in goo,
but all drop and roll as soon as one finds some poo.

The life of a Basset in Napier is easy and fine,
as long as food is set out upon which they can dine.

At the end of the day, they curl up and soon start to snore,
having claimed Jr's bed but he can always bunk on the floor.

Nothing more precious then a pack of Bassets. Please know if you call them by their name and they do not respond…they are not being disobedient. They just think you are calling for a Basset Hound with the same name👀😇❤

If you ever want to see a dog walk on water, get a Basset. Mine would pick out stones to step on to get across the creek. And giving him a bath took a lot of strength. They are incredibly strong.

In my country, Spain, we don't have so wonderful parks to walk with the dogs without leash, maybe in some big cities. So a fantastic place to enjoy with your 4 musketeers. I walk with my dogs at the mountains with the leash their are not Bassethounds ( i love this breed) but they are hunting dogs (i am not a hunter) and those areas are hunting places, so my dogs cannot walk free by law... I have envying your fantastic walks always with your dogs walking free and happy just enjoying the nature in freedom, 👍
