My theory is that when the Titanian Eternals fled earth and settled on Titan they gave up their powers, abilities and immortality; possibly due to their distance from the Celestial technology that allows Eternals to resurrect after death. That’s really the only way they can connect Thanos with the Eternals.

So, if the Celestials were known users and creators of the Infinity stones, then the stones are linked to their DNA.

If Thanos used each one individually without problems, then the Eternals share the same DNA as the Celestials.

Why didn't the Eternals of Titan not benefit the overpopulation and lack of resources before the people died out? It just seems like the Eternals are incompetent in their one role of existence.
