Honestly, I never noticed that very subtle detail near the end of the movie when Eugene dropped the shard of broken glass after cutting Rapunzel's hair with it. Neat how you can miss subtle details if you're not paying close enough attention to them.

It makes sense tho because in the tangled series, rapunzel’s hair grows back due to the moon rocks which are invincible and her hair becomes invincible as well. So even if this is before that happened, I think it makes sense that the same hair that later gains invincibility would give that same ablilty to Flins hand with that same power.

Basically the reason he cut her hair so short is because he didn't want to be healed and wanted to free her from mother gothel.
