The robe curls technique has been around for a minute! And I am just now trying this out. We have tested out sock curls, and curl formers, and even that weird silk overnight heatless curls thing. None of these were comfortable. But what about robe curls?! Lets find out!

This looks soooo good. I’ve only ever seen long hair videos so this was refreshing to see.

Ok but it actually looks super cute when the robe is tied up in your hair too! Like a braid crown!

It’s funny because the whole reason I started CGM was because I wanted a way to let my hair air dry and look nice afterward! My hair is coarse wavy so it looks like a big frizz ball air dried without product. I do hate that it takes FOREVER to dry with gel - but at least it looks nice afterward!

I can't get over how stunning your hair looks! I've been afraid to try heatless curls since I began my curly girl journey for some reason, but I may definitely have to give this one a go! Thanks for the tip! 😊

I love the robe curls. I had longer hair until a couple months ago when I cut off my unhealthy covid hair. My hair is just a tad bit longer than yours and I'm gonna try this tonight!

Hey Courtney, love your videos! I’m a “2B” curly wavy girl. Always looking for other ways to do my hair. FYI- teachers usually ask students to sit on the carpet, crisscross applesauce, preschool to 1st Grade age usually. We say crisscross, applesauce hands are in your lap.❤

I really enjoyed seeing this on shorter hair. I think I’ve heard a zig zag part a large one can help the back lay a bit better and not have the initial separation. My only challenge is I don’t own a robe 😂

Cute! Definitely going to try this now that I’ve seen it done on shorter hair. Thanks!

Hi, new to your channel. Was searching for DIY curling methods explained simply and effectively. ❤ yours is the perfect video for that purpose. 😊 I love the result, I think you nailed it. The back would look great with a little bit of styling. I for one hate it when the root area/"crown" of my hair sits flat on top of my head, so I'll definitely give that part some volume. But that's just my preference. Gonna try this method for sure following your tutorial

I don’t love diffusing, but it makes SUCH a difference in volume and spring that it’s worth it for me.

Your robe curls came out great! I see what you mean about the back, but I didn’t notice it until you pointed it out. I’m wondering if that was due to how the hair was distributed. If you do decide to try it again, you could try adjusting your part.

I have a different heatless method that I use as a lazy refresh on day 4 or 5. I put it up in a scrunchie on the top of my head, then split the ponytail into two sides and wrap each side around the second twist of the scrunchie, as if I was making a sock bun. I’ve also been meaning to try it with two space buns.

It’s not as reliable as the robe curls, and you don’t have as much control over how the top comes out, but it sleeps as well as a pineapple, looks intentional enough to go out in public, and is lightening fast. I stumbled on it by accident – I put it up like that to keep it out of the way while I washed my face, then forgot to take it down until dinner time.

There are also tools you can buy for this that have a padded section attached to a scrunchy. Those will give you larger diameter curls, but have the same top issue.

Looks very cute. Sponge rollers do the same if not better and they are comfortable to wear to bed and SO SOOO much easier to put in.

I bought the "popular" thicker satin rod, and a small long satin rod. But i hesitated forever before i finally bought them. I really had no clue on how to do this i was just going to go in and hope lol.. so i finally put the small one to use this morning with some flaxseed gel and oh boy, that was a job!... What made me hesitant was the back, being it's being pulled all the way out to the sides and i could see the back had quite a bit of straight in hers and now as i get ready to go take mine out after this comment, I'm confident mine will be the same 🤦🏻‍♀️😆.. I've got to figure out a way to fix that problem. But her hair definitely was pretty. Thanks for the tips! ❤

I Loved your video! I appreciated the fact that you actually explained Why things were happening instead of just telling us how to do it. I'm a "why" kinda of gal. And finally there was someone who was showing us how to wrap up the back hair into the robe. However, like others, i think you said it still came out kind of "wonky." There was another little thing that i didn't like ( not about your hair, but the method in general) as well. like how it leaves the sides with wonderful curls but the back with waves. the whole thing put my big fat brain going into overdrive. I started wondering why are we using just one "robe" ? why not use 2 smaller ones for the front and the back? I'm testing my theory out tonight.

I don't ctually own a "robe", never really got into them. .Not to mention most robes are made out of terry cloth or some kind of loop fabric, which is fine for extra absorbancy, but contributes greatly to added frizz bc of the friction between the individual hairs. So i cut up an old T-shirt of my husbands, cut the front off and cut that in 1/2 then folded that in 1/2 for some thickness ( it was a heavy t-shirt). instead of sectioning my hair into 2 i will section it off into 4. 2 sides and 2 in the back. then do as instructed as the video for the front sides. then for the back put the "robe" at the top back of my head and work down. when i reach the end i can simply either tie the 2 ends together or band them together. cross our fingers! it's either going to look fab fab fab, or a hot mess!

Hey Courtney! Great video! I was wondering if you could try out the curlsmith effortless waves spray. I'm interested in purchasing it and I wanted to see what you thought of it for your fine wavy hair. I have the same hair type only some more tighter waves. More 2c-3a

You give me hope. My hair isn't as thick as yours...and I'm way older...but my hair looks just like yours at the first of this video!
