The baughman gold on your website is non-perforated, solid pipe correct? Placing an order to Kentucky for baughman gold and 8 slot high octane blue. Thanks for the videos!

Any concerns with this freezing in the winter? I’m looking to direct my downs spouts to a dry well, not sure if the runs to the dry well should be below the frost line or not. Thanks

How deep do you do these if they are for downspouts or sump lines going to a culvert

None of my neighbors understood, & some still don't understand, drainage. I'd absolutely recommend installs over 10ft away b/c most people chase the water back toward their homes instead of having it follow them to the county drainage. All my silly neighbors have been adding dirt to wet spots &, over the years, have found themselves sleeping in their own stormwater. The #1 way to interest them into proper drainage is showing them that the county sprays for mosquitos & why there should be no water sitting on their property.

This guy sounds like he is explaining things to someone who keeps asking dumb questions. Nevertheless, good information

How would you suggest ending a downspout tile? Ours was buried underground and ended just in the dirt buried. Should I back dig it and end the last few feet horizontal so it ends exposed? Don’t want it to end underground and get water pressure and the end prevent water flow.

I have a vacant house very close to me on the high side of our house. This past spring the retaining wall that has been there for approx. 70 years actually fell towards our house. It crushed our central air unit. We are built into a hill and have a natural slope. The real estate company that owns the vacant house are worthless and will lie right to your face. To make a long story short our insurance company paid for a claim and will then segregate against them. We ended up with a new central ac relocated to the back side of the house and also we had a sloped limestone trench installed (without any corugated pipe) Contractor said it was installed to help divert water coming from the neighbors house.
Now we are experiencing a problem with an old french drain made out terra cotta on the same side of the house.
The front wall that is in the ground seems like it was extremely damp. I decided to dig the areas that were damp and I found mud.
We diverted our other downspout to the driveway. There seems to be a pipe going to the opposite side but it is buried and I know it is broken somewhere. Hence the reason for diverting it.
The problem side is where the french drain for downspouts was hooked up.
I dug around it, and found the connector/hub (not sure what it is called) It is actually right up against our house and not far from the surface.
After I dug down far enough we realized someone had poured concrete overtop of it.
When we unhooked the downspout we were abled to pour water directly into the sleeve and noticed the water went straight thru it. Must be a hole underneath all of that concrete.
We did a temporary fix, bypassed the tera cotta thing and hooked up a 30ft flexible solid plastic drain directly to the downspout. We tested with water and it ran thru just fine. We live in Western Pa and are supposed to get rain tomorrow so, we covered the area where I dug the hole.
We could leave the flex drain where it is and secure it with something. I know the tera cotta drain runs the length of the property but it is broken somewhere out in the yard. Not sure if we need to run the flex drain that far out. Like I said there is a natural slope to the yard that leads to a wooded area and ravine that eventually winds down to a river.
Do we have to bury the pipe? It is pretty much a non used area on our property It is only 2-3 feet wide on that side. We could move the 5 inch limestone from the trench and eventually run it underneath that.
I also want to do a temporary fill where I dug next to the house. It will have to be excavated farther and the terra cotta and concrete removed?
My buckets of dirt are mainly rocks and clay with a little bit of dirt.
I am so glad that I dug that area because it explains why we were getting moisture in part of our basement.
