I started my 3D life with Blender few years back. And I learned Zbrush for sculpting my characters, (becoz its cool) and used blender for retopology and other stuffs. But what I see in the development phase of 2.80 and the upcoming release is most of the Zbrush features is adding into blender one by one. Feels like Blender never wants me to switch to any other programs for my 3d needs. Hats off to the development team... especially to the sculpting branch that on development. Pls give more love to UV tools and texturing workflow... Lets make blender the most insane 3D tool..!

For everyone wondering how he got the ball in Sculpt mode: if you open a new project as "Sculpting" instead of "General" (e.g. in the File -> New menu) the ball will be your default asset instead of the cube.

i find it weird that no one is appreciating the fact that blender is a free software
it looks like a program that costs 400 dollars

Thank you! So many small things make this great. Good diction, few annoying verbal bad habits, and helpful tips for a beginner. So many experienced users forget what it's like to accidentally hit a key and have no idea how you just messed up the interface. Kudos

Just some side knowledge, this guy was a good choice for sculpting! He's the one that sculpted the girl, dog, and crazy creature in the Blender short Spring!

He has an art station for his credentials haha

These tutorials are awesome! Keep them coming. I'm trying to transition from 3ds Max to Blender 2.8 and the new version is much better than what I tried a couple of years ago. Blender is definitely moving in the right direction.

Thank you so much, that was a really top-shelf and helpful get-up-and-go tutorial. Blender Crew is so awesome for making this free and open source. Thank you Julian for the tutorial.

Most informative and enlightening, Julien. Thank you for this video!

I had a lot of trepidations and frustrations with Blender 2.8 (especially after getting so used to 2.79), but now I'm finally getting more comfy with 2.8's revamped UI, and general way of doing things.

That was a great tutorial! Thanks for doing it. You covered quite a few things I didn't already know about using sculpt.

it would be actually helpful for beginners, if you showed in video how you, once opening the blender, get your 8 vertices cube from object mode into 10000 vertices sphere in sculpt mode.

Sorry if this was explained later in the video but when I use the tools in sculpting they don’t look as clean as it does in this video? Is there a reason for that?
