When I hear sabretooth I immediately think of Diego from ice age, so that's a nice coincidence

Sabre-teeth were famous long before mammals even evolved. Gorgonopsids, dicynodonts, and other ancient therapsids had sabre-teeth. Inostrancevia, a genus of Gorgonopsids, had the longest sabre-teeth of any therapsid, until the evolution of the Smilodontines.
