Spinosaurus was among the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs, nearly as large as or even larger than Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus. Estimates published in 2005, 2007, and 2008 suggested that it was between 12.6–18 metres (41–59 ft) in length and 7 to 20.9 tonnes (7.7 to 23.0 short tons) in weight.[2][3][4] New estimates published in 2014 and 2018 based on a more complete specimen, supported the earlier research, finding that Spinosaurus could reach lengths of 15–16 m (49–52 ft).[5][6][7] The latest estimates suggest a weight of 6.4–7.5 tonnes (7.1–8.3 short tons).[6][7] The skull of Spinosaurus was long and narrow, similar to that of a modern crocodilian. Spinosaurus is known to have eaten fish, and most scientists believe that it hunted both terrestrial and aquatic prey; evidence suggests that it lived both on land and in water as a modern crocodilian does. The distinctive spines of Spinosaurus, which were long extensions of the vertebrae, grew to at least 1.65 meters (5.4 ft) long and were likely to have had skin connecting them, forming a sail-like structure, although some authors have suggested that the spines were covered in fat and formed a hump. Multiple functions have been put forward for this structure, including thermoregulation and display.

After more recent study’s it was shown that the hands of spinosaurus couldn’t support the weight of its body as well as it’s enter of mass being at its hips rather then at its chest and the legs on the 4 legs design are actually from a younger specimen and it is thought the adult spinosaurus would have had more proportional leg lengths

Spinosaurus couldn't walk on 4 legs, as it's hands were not suited for 4 legged locomotion, however it could have done something similar to knuckle walking

now, thanks to more and more new studies, both spinosaurus and giganotosaurus lost their crown for the largest carnivorous dinosaurs, and now T Rex is currently wearing back that crown.
Carcharodontosaurus, weighed 4-6 tons,
Mapusaurus weighed 5 tons,
Spinosaurus now weighed 6-7 tons,
Giganotosaurus weighed 7-8 tons,
Tyrannosaurus weighed 9-10 tons,
for the most updated facts as of 2023.
Spino being 22 tons, Carcharodontosaurus being 16 tons, and Giga being 15 tons, those weight estimates are long outdated 10 years ago, and can only be achieved by sauropods. even though a 70% bigger T rex would've weighed close to a diplodocus' weighed which weighed 16 tons

The spine has been disproved as a fat storage hump. Current research suggests it was either just for looks (unlikely to be the sole reason in my opinion) or possibly to help with balance while underwater despite causing drag! There are more possibilities too that I won't get into, I have a terrible video on this if you wanna learn more 😂. Either way, I enjoyed this video, very digestible although I think more research could have gone into the facts.
