Lung Rejection Blood Tests!

My teenage son had a dental surgery in October 2022 triggering a rare autoimmune disease we didn't know he had (GPA Vasculitis). This caused bleeding in his lungs which ultimately impacted many organs but damaged his lungs to an irreparable point. He recently had a double lung transplant in May 2023. He has given me permission to share his story ❤️

Autoimmune diseases that pop up out of no where are mind blowing. My daughter got Covid asymptomatic then a couple months later got HLH. I caught it early and took her 3 times a week to doctors hospitals and finally they caught it early enough to treat and she got better they said it won’t come back. We rejoiced. Then a year later she got mono no biggie sick for a could weeks but then months later from mono got systemic juvenile arthritis. Got a treatment plan and everything is going well. What happened to your son I couldn’t imagine I thought it was hard going through these two thing with my daughter but king failure would have brought me to my brink. I’m so happy for him and you and his friends and family that he found a match isn’t rejecting it and it on the mend. Prayers to him and his recovery and life ahead. ❤

My daughter was always conflicted with me being an organ donor, so a few weeks ago, I shared your videos with her. She returned home from the DMV yesterday & wanted to show me her license. I didn't understand why until she proudly pointed it out--She's officially an Organ Donor. Thank You. I am seven years into my Double Lung Transplant. I also had my transplant at UC
In February I got Covid and unfortunately, my lungs went Into chronic rejection. I am getting a treatment called Photo Pherisis, which has helped slow down the rejection. Please please take your pills on time and don't miss them.
Congratulations, love and care for your new lungs and hang in there. You got this. Maybe we will see each other at UC one day.
