Transplant coordinator Olivia Klyn walks you through the reasons for, and frequency of, biopsies post lung transplant. Within the first year, we’re specifically looking for signs of infection and rejection. Biopsies can confirm acute cellular rejection and chronic rejection within the first year. For this reason, you can expect surveillance biopsies at one month, three months, six months, nine months and at one year. This is the only time you’ll have scheduled biopsies.
