Love the chart. I’m obsessed. I also like to be organized. Writing things down takes it out of my head, and greatly reduces my stress level.

Good afternoon from a fellow 9b gardener in Sacramento! I love watching your videos and getting more ideas on seeds to try out. I always struggled with Sweet Peas, but am going to give them a try this year. I had great results with growing Stock last year. I tried 4 types and loved them all. This year I bought 10 different colors and 1 mix from Johnnys. The only change I am going to make is to use hortinova. I had to do a lot of staking last year. Thanks for sharing all you are learning, I appreciate it.

Oh my you are dangerous! Hahaha I love Lisa Ziegler method and not totally understanding it all and now I have a huge area left from building the pool that is bare dirt and boy could it be a cut flower garden. Only problem is my husband would kill me ha! He says I have too much work to do already keeping up with everything. But your video this morning really set a bell off in my mind. Love your videos so much as they are totally applicable to me

Dang, we are growing some of the same stuff(at least the same species, but in different varieties), but I'm growing my stuff from seed(from sunflowers, to ranunculus, but I don't have snapdragons, stock, asters(because they kept on dying), hydrangeas, larkspur, ammi, Tulips, daffodils, and sweet peas, instead I have poppies, Ismelia, Gazania, Gerbera Daisies, marigolds(Tagetes), Calendula, Hollyhocks, hibiscus(a rose of Sharon, a traditional one, and roselle) ) a lot of them are coming up(even the ranunculus sprouted lol, even though it will burn in my tropical climate unprotected, 4 o' clocks, band impatiens, anything else that Janey has I have(at least in seed form) but I have a container garden by my doorway(No, not a patio, we don't have that here) that is much cooler(in temp) than my main container garden, and gets a decent amount of sun) Love your garden so much! Most especially the Arabian Night Dahlias

Good morning, Janey. I love how organized you are and hopefully it will rub off on me. I love sweet peas and grow them every year. Their fragrance is wonderful. I tried growing Katz stock from seed this year and made the mistake of pinching them back to make them bushy which is a big mistake because you lose all the blooms. Lesson learned and I won't pinch them and I enjoy that wonderful, spicy scent they have. I love your spreadsheets, they are helping me get organized. Take care and smh the chill mornings 🦋🐞🌷🐝🏵️.

Fellow 9b gardener here in Chico, would like to thank you for talking about the cool flower method. I had given up on growing sweetpeas b/c we get so hot so early here, but now I will look into this for this fall. Yay! something new to try!

I haven't watched yet, but I have to tell you, Janet, that I was just sifting through my seed packets and wondering if I should check the Cool Flowers book and your AH-mazing chart to see when it was time...

Good morning 😃 I LOVE the Cool Flowers book !!! I did fall planting last year with bachelor buttons larkspur and love in a mist. It was the best year ever for these plants!!! My larkspur is still going strong. I did direct sew my seeds but might try starts this fall. I already have most of my seeds as they sell out so fast anymore ☹️ so I am prepared 😝. Have a wonderful day friend 🥰🥰

QUESTION: Hi Janey, I’m in Zone 10 A. No frost. When can I direct sow sweet pea seeds or direct sow zinnias? I don’t think the cool method applies to me but it’s interesting to hear about it.

This is a great video. A lot of good information. The cool flower method is such a different way of gardening for me but it’s a great solution for my hot, dry weather. I’ve purchased similar seeds as you and will follow along with you. Excited to see the results. 🌷M

Could you possibly plant a few cut flowers throughout the rest of your garden? You seem to have plenty of sunshine which is an advantage. I totally understand where you are coming from though, as I always try to plant out plants that are technically not grow in my climate here in Australia ha ha! I call myself a ‘greedy’ gardener too! 😀😄🌱🌸🌞 Thank you for sharing your chart. It is brilliant! I easily get overwhelmed if I have too many plants and seeds to plant. 🥺🤔🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🤔🧐

Thank you so much for this great information. I'm in zone 10b and grew snapdragon seeds last year. I started in a seed tray on 9/3. They looked so fragile so I potted them up to 4" on 10/29. They didn't grow much in the 4" pots so I planted them in my flower bed. From seed to bloom it look eight months to bloom. Is that normal?

Hi Janey! Great Pre-plan. Off topic…are you planning to dig and store your Dahlias? Or overwinter? I think we can here in our area but I am curious what you plan to do.
