I met Lou Ferrgino in Calgary Alberta in like 2017, I told him how much he inspired me to work harder and be a better person in all aspects of my life. He gave me the biggest hug I’ve ever gotten. Dude is a beauty.

The classic bodybuilding looks is better than the overblown look today

The classic golden era of bodybuilding was truly something special.

I was 19 years old when I first saw Pumping Iron. It was 1978. The clips of him doing the seated cable rows and squatting with Ed Corney was life changing. The raw intensity of those workouts was almost shocking to my senses, but I realized then that no matter how much juice you inject, or what your genetic advantages are, real progress in bodybuilding takes superhuman effort on a day by day basis.

"The king of the hill can only go down"
Arnold: "Or stay up"
That's the mindset of a champion.

Lou overcame deafness and bullying to become one of the greatest, I admire both of them.

Arnold was not only an incredible poser who possessed an insane level of intensity during the training season, he was also a master of psychological warfare.

Lou was completely underrated, to look that good at 6'5 is an amazing feat. Bodybuilders today are like 5'6-5'9, he'd dwarf them.

Lou's comeback in the early 90s was one of the most amazing athletic feats in history. The guy is an all-time great in my opinion.

“I called my mother yesterday and told her I already won”. Talk about mind games, Arnold was the best.

I'm glad Lou Ferrigno went into acting. No one could play or look better than him in the series 'The Incredible hulk.'

These a good memories for me. Today near 59 I met Arnold when I was 15 yrs old in Peter Schachtschneiders Sport Studion in middle Germany. It was inspiring and motivating to put a skinny guy like me into bodybuilding fascination. I never become a real Bodybuilder, but I was 20 yrs in the army as a professional soldier and fitness Instructor. Today, always training, cycling and power-lifting and ready to get fit into the 3rd age and retirement - I nearly achived the body I always dreamed on. Sometimes things take a little bit longer, but its never to late to start, thanks to Arnold, Lou, Frank, Sergio and the rest of the legendary gang... thank you for giving us inspiration and motivation

I have had the honor of meeting Lou and Arnold in my life. Both were massively humble kind and loving men. Not only was their physique phenomenal but their hearts were big and caring. Arnold has always been my childhood hero along with Lou. I grew up idolizing these men wanting to be big and strong just like them, they are my heroes. I have grown up to be a big man. I may have a bit of a chubby tummy but I still got that upper body strength to match it. At 38 years old, I am a 6'3" 320lb bear-of-a-man. I am proud of my size and these two men inspired me to be who I am today.

Back then, bodybuilders looked like Greek gods. Now they look like mutant lobsters.

I swear, whenever I see Lou lifting weights, I can still see a hint of green just under the surface.

Arnold not only had the physical muscle but also the mental muscle to achieve his dreams

Look how clean both Arnie’s and Lou’s complexions are, their skin colour and tone while training in the gym. They look so healthy, not overly veined up or puff balled with water or gawd knows what else. This was the golden era for me. It’s all gone steroid mad now where they just look ridiculous. Ninja Turtles does fit I am sorry to say.
