In this video I test and review the new GoPro HERO6 Black. This is GoPro's new flagship camera and while it may look the same as the HERO5 it is packing a lot more punch. With in camera stabilisation to almost rival a 3-axis gimbal this camera will take your hand held shots to the next level.

Nice video. I'm looking to upgrade my Hero 4 with it's gimbal to the Hero 6 in the next few weeks. This is mainly due to the EIS and not the extra 4K frame rate (I don't even have a 4K TV anyway!). It's a shame I'll need to get new batteries too, as the Hero 4 ones won't fit but they are reasonably cheap if you get alternatives to the GoPro branded ones.

Thanks for this video, I'm really thinking about getting a Hero 6 for Christmas as an upgrade for my Hero 4 Silver. I didn't found out which resolutions/ frame rates support the stabilisation, maybe you can help me further? Greetings from Germany 😉

Great Video Kyle. I have a question... I go mountain biking and use my Hero+ to capture my rides. As you can imagine the image can be pretty blurry at times. For christmas I was going to invest in a gimbal. My main concern is, if I crash I could damage the gimbal. Do you think there will be a big difference between the Hero 6 and a gimbal on the rides? Or go with the Hero 6 with it's built in stabilisation, which does look awesome!?

Do you think you could show some clips of you riding a bike with the Hero 6 and a gimbal? Thanks.

I am enjoying my Sessions 5. The square compact camera is great for all I do. Another fine video. Not sure I will be buying the Hero 6. I hope the price of the Sessions 5 comes down some. :) I need a 3rd.

You didn't mention any improvements on sound, gopro made a big deal about the three microphones in the gph5 and its ability to deal with wind noise (something i think they failed to deliver on) has the gph6 improved in this area?

I have the Hero 5 i was impressed  with the new stabilisation  but i won't be upgrading in a hurry unless they brought out a session 6 .

Thanks for answering a question i had in mind. I was wondering if the new GOpro hero 6 could finally zoom in and out live while recording. Now I know it still CAN'T, I do like that it gives you some zoom in options prior to recording vs my Gopro hero 5. Kind of regret buying it. When I bought it, I thought it would do a live record I g zoom in and out since slot of people compared it to a smartphone camera with out the phone feature. The 4k at 60FPS is pretty cool.

Thx for the informative video, I am in the market for an action Cam "as first time buyer" & this is the best performing camera for my money. After considering other brands, their specs & pricing the GoPro Hero 6's more advanced features that actually justifies the extra cost & as an investment in performance point of view.

I bought the Hero 5 less than a year ago. I also have a Removu s1. Wish I had better DNR and higher frame rate, but can’t quite spend 500 clams. I hear there are still some firmware issues. I think I’ll stick with the 5 for a while. Thanks for a very good review!

Good review but... what about the audio? Why didn't you cover it? I heard some bad things about audio so i may hold off for now and keep my Hero 4.

i actually am exactly where you say i would be.. the point where i really hesitate to upgrade ! but keep my hero5 !! and i have the karma grip but like you said then i am travelling it is not always easy to take with you.. :(

I would like to know if the audio has improved on the GoPro 6 over the audio on the GoPro 5.  Especially the wind noise at speed.

Unfortunately I can't do any gopro 6 videos. I got one and the battery would not charge in he camera and the batteries (tried 2 others) were very tight and very difficult to insert/remove. Sent back.

have you really tested the dynamic range between the hero 5 and 6? I have and there is basically no difference in dynamic range between the cameras
