Urban Explorers Discover Abandoned World War II Bunker

An urban explorer has revealed inside an abandoned underground World War 2 bunker.

Photographer Colin Hodson, 34, from Hampshire, explored the bunker with his girlfriend Tilly and best friend Lee on October 10, after they’d read up about it online.

Active in 1930, the underground bunker based in Portsdown Hill, Portsmouth, can hold up to 180,000 tons of oil in nine 35ft storage tanks.

Based below ground, Colin and his friends had to walk down a steep dark tunnel to gain access to the complex which was decommissioned in 1990.
