What are some of the warning signs and symptoms of congestive heart failure? And remember, symptoms are what you feel, signs are what you see. Some of the symptoms include shortness of breath, dyspnea on exertion meaning you have a hard time breathing when you exert yourself.

And if you get severe congestive heart failure or really chronic CHF, you can actually develop shortness of breath even with no activity. Other symptoms include fatigue, just generalized fatigue, being tired all the time.

You can get nausea, even, yes, nausea and vomiting can be symptoms of congestive heart failure. You can get a decreased appetite or early satiety, meaning you get full quickly when eating.

In order to be diagnosed, you must consult your physician or your heart doctor, your cardiologist, and your physician will give you a thorough history and physical and they may also run some lab tests and do some imaging studies so they can diagnose you by finding some of the signs on your physical exam that we talked about like the crackles or the jugular venous distention (JVD).

Congestive Heart Failure Treatment
So what are the treatments for congestive heart failure? Well depending on the type of heart failure you have, heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, or heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, then your treatment may vary.

My husband has a terrible dry cough every single night while sleeping. He has sleep apnea and snores extremely bad. He’s also getting up 3 times a night to use the restroom. He’s overweight and always “sleepy”. He will not listen to me when I tell him to see his physician. It’s so frustrating.

I greatly appreciate this video ! You have explained thing far better then my cardiologist. I have a complex case I guess and I'm trying to find some answers
My case includes reduced EF 36%, found major issues from a premature birth, and a ramus artery that is way too close to becoming completely blocked. I started having a vast array of symtoms that started in April that have turned my life upside down sadly

I am a 51/2 year survivor of quadruple bypass heart surgery. I had no history of heart problems. So, you can imagine my surprise when the doctor said that I needed that surgery. I lost o lot of weight during and after surgery. I think that I was depressed, sometimes I that I am still depressed. I’ve been retired for 51/2 years and I live my life in moderation. I get sharp pains my chest from time to time but I was assured that unfortunately will be my new normal. My question is this: how long will the quadruple heart bypass surgery last?

Only thing I’ve had was the consistent cough lasting 4 years. I also cough in my sleep. I’m scared because I’m only 36 but I’m going to see a cardiologist. I also can’t sleep on my back but my stomach is ok.
