I have to admit, the dogs stepping up and unselfishly helping all the time, always gives me a chuckle!

I pour in some kosher salt to rub out any food particles, then rinse in hot again. Works like a charm and I don’t have to reseason very often. One of my pans is over 30 years old 😊

My grandmother used to cook a lot with cast iron, she would also clean the cast iron. I would dry it and she would use hot water steam clean it then put it on a warm stove.

My grandmother lived in the desert and she always had us kids clean the pans with sand and wipe down with a shammy type material. 70 years ago!

I recently bought a cast iron dutch oven, so this video came at the right time.
Kent Rollins is still my favorite cowboy.

Ever since I watched your method on cleaning cast iron I have stuck with it it's work better than any method I have ever tried if you get something stuck just throw a little kosher salt and oil and rub it right off and reseason I absolutely love my cast iron

Thank yew brother Kent for affirming what my mother taught me. Btw, I finely minced two med. carrots, a yellow onion, an orange bell pepper in bacon grease, then 2 lbs of pork sausage, then 4 bunches of chopped collard greens, 6 cloves rough chopped garlic, in a big pot, but waited to add the roasted, peeled Hatch red chiles, until the bitter was out of the greens. You and your's are welcome at my campfire anytime here in Las Cruces.

Kent is right here, though a properly seasoned cast iron pan is really easy to clean with just hot water.
