I think that God knows the past, the present and the future, God already knew all of us and all of our actions from the very beginning of creation or even before that, He knows all, for that reason God already knew who was going to be safe and who unfortunately was going to be lost but He loves all of us and does not want anyone to be lost but for all to come to repentance and comes to Christ Jesus into salvation. I also believe that not even one leaf moves without it being God's will, God is all mighty, His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

In Matthew, Jesus says God will cloth you like he does the flowers of the field. He will feed you like he does all the birds. His point is to not worry about those things. But if God does that.. then why do I have to put on cloths everyday?? Why do I have to cook and chew my food? That seems to me to be the same line of questioning towards why pray or evangelize.

While this may explain the need for evangelism it does not answer the issue of prayer and providence. To say that questioning the connection between the two is odd is an insufficient response. Indeed, not to question the relationship between providence and prayer would be illogical. If this teaching is the explanation as to why one should pray given God’s providence it seriously fails to provide any biblical proof.

The example with the hammer and nail is so stupid. He hasn’t just predestined the nail to be sunk into the wood; he’s also predestined for someone to hit it with a hammer. Yeah, let’s just ignore the illogical implications of all of this and just pretend like it all makes sense.
