One thing that's remarkable to me about Faker is that if you think back a couple seasons ago... Chovy and Knight were pretty much considered the two best midlaners on the planet, and Faker was considered washed up (around 3rd place in the world is apparently washed up). But now that T1 has been having recent success, Faker is kind of auto slotted in back on top. That kinda shows two things: the first is that no matter how good you are or valuable to your team, if they are not winning you can't be considered the best individually. And the second is just that it is absolutely mindblowing how many different metas he can remain relevant over his career, finding a way to be successful in any role his team needs him for - whether it be carrying, absorbing pressure, basically playing a tank, making huge engage plays - he can do them all at the highest level. That's why he's my humble GOAT forever

i love the assassin flanks. when i hit high plat i started to see assassin players kind of circling the opponents like a vulture and constantly repositioning towards an ambush, while the ally team serves as bait in order to draw the opponents into a conclusive position, and it has been really cool to see ingame. it's a whole different vibe than lower elo, where a lot of the assassins are almost dancing in plain sight, or maybe camping in obvious/suspicious FoW. hence high plat assassins have a higher surprise factor, and it can be devastating. it makes me wonder what it's like to play in high diamond and beyond. alas, i'll never make it there to see for myself.
