Using PS3 Safe Mode

I am deaf. So all I'm doing is turning my system on and off repeatedly. No menu. Wish they thought to put visual cues into the lights such as fast beeps and slow beeps so those of us with bad hearing could know what to do.

I was able to override the 4.88 update using safe mode!

I installed the 4.88 with the necessary firmware to get HEN working - I’m using the super slim

Apparently, this wasn’t supposed to work - but it did.

My PS3 stopped being able to read Blue Ray movies, and suggested to fix the file structure in safe mode, their instructions for safe mode wasn't clear, yours was perfect and the problem is now solved.

Great video very helpful. Just wish the PS3s were made better and not so cheap. Corrupt files happen all the time and the system freezing when trying to log in online is terrible and a fault that shouldnt happen.

A friend of mine downloaded and installed the lastest GT6 patch. After making it to the main menu of the game, he turned the system off without issue. When he turned it back on, the system froze before loading the XMB. So he went into safe mode, chose "Restore File System" and now it says: "Preparing...Please wait". It's been 24 hours and he's still seeing this screen.

I had to do a ''File Restore System'' a few times, and an extra repair-scan when I started my PS3, everything is working fine
