A Surprising Find at the Antique Vintage Flea Market! | Shop with Me

We're hauling down to the flea market, and hauling back a great bunch of bargains on cool antique and vintage treasures! Our favorite dealers are back after a two-year hiatus, and it's our chance to find great deals on all the cool stuff they've been picking to flip to us resellers.

Sunday is the day the vintage dealers cluster on one end of the swap meet, so we're headed there first! Some out-of-town dealers mistake it for a high-end antique show, but our local dealers and some others just passing through do not disappoint, and we act fast to get a great B&O train step just ahead of another buyer. We find mini bottles and soda glasses for just a dollar each (with an offer to fill), score a great 1930s clock for $15, and a VIking bird for $5 that we flip right away for $45!

A fascinating Florida creature from the Paleozoic Era gives us its home to take to ours, where we unpack the haul and talk about what we bought, what we paid and what we hope our collector customers will buy! Flea markets and swap meets are great places to get a lot of good stuff all at once, and we are pleased to have these fun things to present in our mall spaces and upcoming shows in person and online.

That swagman plate is the story in the song “Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong, under the shade of a coolabah tree ….”

Okay so I know this is random but when you picked up the plate with the Swagman it led me to Google it and much to my surprise I learned the history of the song "Waltzing Matilda", which I used to sing as a kid in school! Its about a Swagman (transient laborer) who steals a sheep! It's based on a true story and it's just this whole crazy thing! I love this channel!!

The B&O piece was my favorite since my grandfather worked there!! You should look at some pictures of the Delaware beaches covered in horseshoe crabs every spring. Being from Maryland & always going “down the ocean, hon!” in the summer, we always spot them on the beach. Tell your subscribers to never pick them up by the spine! You can turn them over to investigate by the sides of their shells. Their legs don’t pinch. Their blood have properties that are very interesting to scientists. Great haul! Thanks for taking us along!❤️

Swagman plate tells the story of the song Waltzing Matilda. The song is quoted in Tom Waits' Tom Traubert's Blues, and the devastating anti war song And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda by Eric Bogle.

I would've loved wheeling around there looking at all the cool stuff. I saw at least 2 or 3 treasures I would want too.

LBJ and Hubert Humphrey on one pin. I would like that, depending on price. The Butterfly vase is lovely. Bar novelties are always crude. The horseshoe crab is a very important animal, an very old creature. Thanks for taking us along.❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

My first car (53 Chevy) had one of those knobs on the steering wheel. I learned they were referred to as “suicide knobs”. I really liked it, but they’re not legal here any more.

Hi George & Carl! Nice haul, George, sure wished Carl would have shared his, too. That pink Bristol vase was to die for!!! I really liked your red fused glass plate. My hubs is a trucker & alot of them have that steering knob on their steering wheels.
