Today we are going to dive deep into the lush reverb of the CXM1978.
Born from a collaboration between Chase Bliss and Meris, this pedal offer amazing capabilities.
I will try it with Teenage Engineering OP1, Elektron Octatrack and Nord Drum 2.

I needed to see this review. I love the CXM but was definitely struggling to get to know it properly. This has definitely helped me understand it better. Loving these videos you are putting out 🙏

I do exactly the same thing with my Eventide Space, I just leave it where it is ( I actually have 2 presets but they’re both similar )in the send and return. The Eventide is absolutely outstanding, the CXM is the only thing that’s close in my opinion. I also have the Dark world, Mood and maxed out H 9 and use them all on different rigs. Anyway great demo and the CXM is one of the best reverbs I ever heard. I used to own a H 3500 by Eventide and I’d even say the CXM is nearly as good as that albeit the H 3500 was more programmable.

Cheers! I have an anniversary OT (my second since the very first edition I've had/loved for many years) and a Nord Drum 3p. I'll have to integrate my CXM 1978 in a new way now... I appreciate the inspiration!

The demonstration is very interesting !👍
Can you tell me, please, how Chase Bliss CXM 1978 vs OTO BAM compare / what would you choose for synthesizers, and what would be the details that would convince you the most? Is the OTO BAM too dark, or the Chase Bliss CXM 1978 too light?
I want to buy a reverb unit, from the two units mentioned, and I don't know which one has the reverb effects, of better quality, , which one is more suitable for synthesizers and which offers more possibilities for modeling the reverb effect / without hearing the effect separately from the sound. !
I ask because certain reverb units are better suited for synthesizers, and others are better suited for vocals and acoustic instruments.
Thank you !

This is one of first times I encounter a reverb that does something with my chest. It gives a certain feel...

Finally someone who clearly explains how the Cross fader works! Thanks a lot! A beginner question: I know that the green led on the bypass button is set for balanced i / o, but I suppose you have to use balanced cables, or does it work regardless? Because I have the impression that even with normal Mogami guitar cables the difference is noticeable from unbalanced to balanced, but maybe I am influenced by the led 😅 ...

A side note: since I'm italian I'm not sure: better to comment in Italian or English? Let me know, maybe for a matter of dialogue with everyone it's better in English 😉

Hi. I just got my CXM 1978. Is it okay to leave it on all the time? This thing has no power switch. :-( it would be a nuisance to keep unplugging/plugging back in whenever i finish playing the keyboard.

Does this CXM 1978 would have been in your reverb shootout published 2 months before this video? 😉

Guys I can’t still understand the cross over slider. I still rely on my ears to not go crazy. Why it says in the manual that it will sound thin if you max the cross over and max the middle? I thought it will be more bassy because below the crossover is Bass :) . Looks like the middle frequency above crossover is zero since the slider removed all the middle frequency.

Hi there! Thanks again for all your videos. Getting a t-1 after your video from today haha. One question about the cxm, on mine, when i move the mix fader up and down when a signal is going through it i can hear some crackles in the reverb decay.. this is not the case when the mix fader is still, only when i move it. Do you recognize this?

Its not that its not a nice pedal, it just isn't remotely worth what they are charging for it.
