I was born 1964. My parents were very young. We didn't have any furniture in our living room but an old easy chair from my mom's mother and an old rocking chair from my Dad's mother. There was also a record player and a tiny black and white TV. One of my earliest memories is dancing the Twist with my parents to an appearance on some rock show.

Every time I hear Marvelous Marvin two memories come back. My late Auntie M who would have been 78 this year - she introduced me to his music in about 1967. Second one of those moments where you are when something tragic happens like, Kennedy, Princess Diana, and 9/11. For me sitting in Oklahoma City airport on my way to Dallas - I immediately bought his greatest hits cassette for my journey - I would drive back to Denver from Dallas with it playing continuously... Thanks Marvin for all the memories...too smooth by half.

The guy doing the Watusi is none other than Steve McQueen and he is doing a very good job doing the dance. Very cool!

Steve McQueen and Natalie Wood doing the Watusi. Must be "Love with the Proper Stranger." Nice to see them.

It blew my mind seeing Billy Preston singing and dancing. I'd always known him as a keyboardist, especially for playing keyboards for the Beatles. What talent!

Thanks Toni for the memories! While I was a kid in the 60‘s (12 in 69) I had 2 older sisters who were in high school when these dances were popular. So they would always be trying them out at home with me watching. Result- I was one of the only guys in high school who knew how to dance…at least a little. I was very popular on the dance floor. Even more so when disco hit the scene in the late 70‘s! What fun we had! Cheers and thanks again! I‘ve always enjoyed your movies and congrats on finally getting your recognition for „Mickie“.

My late wife could do all these dances. She was a natural dancer. I guess she learned to dance in the disco era. Then she marries a stiff like me!😂😝

Such a unique and stylish time. Who isn’t enamoured by the 1960s… so interesting and beautiful! And what I particularly like is that everyone of all age groups dances the same way.

Born in ‘54. Was around for all this. I would never contradict the BRILLIANT AND ETERNAL Toni Basil. BUT, doesn’t the skate look a heck of a lot like The Funky Broadway? 😊😊😊😊.

(Was waiting for the cool jerk.)

Never in my long life have I seen Steve McQueen dance. I believe Natalie Wood is next to him.

In my 80th year and still remember and love the sixties. Listening to the music transports me back to a time when I believe it was more fun to be young, even though we did not have all the mobile phones and gadgets that the kids have today.I grew up in a small city and there were dances on most nights of the week, the "pubs" were always full with people enjoying themselves and everyone seemed happier then.
