The Story of Ebola

Показать описание

The animated story is told by a young girl whose grandfather dies from Ebola and puts the rest of her family at risk. It brings to life the many messages that are so crucial in understanding this disease on a community level.

The film makes visible the invisible Ebola germs to help people see and understand how Ebola spreads and how to protect themselves. Critical messages are woven through the story so that people better understand Ebola, see themselves within the context of an outbreak, and see how to act in ways that can keep themselves safe from the disease and protect their communities.

Although the situation in West Africa has improved dramatically, the Ebola crisis is still not over. This film is intended to be part of ongoing educational and awareness efforts in that region that are critical in eradicating this disease.

This is a very well put together Ebola prevention message. I particularly like the use of a young girl ( gender and age used from a position of strength, not weakness) within the family as the effective messenger against negative cultural practice. Kudos.

For all of you brats saying this is getting copied, the description of this video says they are making the video again because they want to share the message of Ebola. They are collaborating and sharing the message because they care. They say that the original animators were global health media and they want to give the credit to them. But please also give this channel some love because they want us to be safe just like global health media. This was a beautiful animation and It's so inspirational. It helps children and adults who want to be doctors, nurses, etc. to know the danger of Ebola. Thank you for warning us twice. Now I know how Ebola spreads and where it comes from. See? Fucking educational right there!!

To the people who say that IFRC copied this video, GHMP (Global Health Media Project) collaborated with IFRC, or just read the description.

Is it just me that thinks it's sad because her grandfather died?

I hated the part where the old man died. He seemed friendly, and it was sad to see him die.
