I was married to another empath for 31 years. WOW What a ride we had. Big Smiles. It was wonderful. I was so blest to have had him in my life. And Yes we always had animals. Even as he was dying when hospice brought his oxygen he was out on the front porch feeding his colony of feral kitties dragging his long hose with him. Well they were mine too. Just caring for them brought us so much joy. They are gone now along with him. I still have 5 kitties 2 dogs. No more cows mules horses chickens goats. Long cold winters here and I am over dealing with frozed troughs and water bowls canned cat food. Not to mention at 74 I really would struggle hefting those hay bales around. My critters are my love now.

If you are a mature empath, the problems you described that they could encounter are more easily dealt with. Because we are clear on what we need and want, we also know what they require. Need some space? So do I. Something you are not ready to talk about. Not a problem. Hiding details to something painful? I'm here when you are ready to talk. Much better than spending a lifetime trying to explain everything to someone who has no clue why you are the way you are.
