Impeachment is dominating the news cycle in Washington, but it appears to be a lower priority for some voters on the campaign trail. CBSN political reporter Catilin Huey-Burns, democratic strategist Antjuan Seawright, and Republican strategist Leslie Sanchez spoke to CBSN's Elaine Quijano about how voters are viewing impeachment.

Republicans and Democrats are two little political parties, 28% of the voters each. Almost half of registered voters are registered independent, which Is a good thing, as President George Washington noted in 1796 when he said that political parties were incapable of providing good government. The problem that independent voters have is that since about 1970 party politicians at state level have been busy little bees passing state election laws designed to prevent independent voters from voting in elections they have to pay for and from being able to appear on the ballot as candidates for public office. As soon as independent voters gain ballot access, this corrupt two-party system in the United States is done.
