Jim Green African Ranger Boots My Honest 12 Week Review

In this video, I share my experience with the Jim Green African Ranger boots in Fudge leather. These boots offer exceptional comfort and, with a touch of leather balm, are water-resistant enough for walking the dog through wet grass. While not ideal for harsh winter conditions due to thin leather, the non-slip soles perform excellently on wet and icy surfaces. Plus, no heel pressure or abrasion! I also briefly compare them to the Barefoot version, which didn’t impress as much. Watch now for all the details

I just got a pair of the barefoot African Rangers and I love them. While there's no insulation, that's what thick wooly socks are for. And whatever compound they use for the soles is amazing. No slips anywhere. I was just in France and they were perfect, I live in the Middle East and everything is covered with fine sand and very slippery in every shoes I have except these.

I got 6 months with the same african rangers in crazy horse and I agree you will need thick wool socks for cold climates these are the most breathable footwear in the world they are literally like wearing flip flops and are excellent for hot weather I stoped using foot powder because my feet just wont sweat wearing these. I recommend the leather jim green insole to get the best results

It helps the "break in" that the AR are single lasted and not too heavy. The AR is made for warmer & dryer conditions.
Jim greens double lasted boots takes some break in.
That wedge sole on the AR I think called oringo sole is on the soft side quite grippy and quiet and comfortable to walk on.

Good info, I live in the Rocky Mountain West. I will buy these for summer. Replaced my Danners with a pair of Razorbacks for the Winter. It's 9 months of Winter here too, I get it.

AR are super comfy, great for the warm and dry weather. I have the nubuck ones, they look and breath awesome; if you use a full grain leather they may be a bit less breathable but probably more waterproof than the nubuck ones. great overall shoes but for warm weather only. sole (the gringo sole, the standard one they come with) is actually quite grippy on asphalt but wears out rather quickly.

Thank you for the video!!

In Canada and colder weather I switch out my insoles for an "insulated" insole in my AR8's. Seems to make a difference in the -15 and under.

Hope you feel better soon

Cheers beers and whiskey 🤠🥃

Thank you for the foul weather review. My African Rangers are in the Houston Black. I live in Wyoming and just stopped wearing them after the snow started. Waiting on some good leather balm to arrive before I wear them out again.

Great review! How is the sizing? I'm in the USA and I want to order a pair but I'm curious if the sizing is accurate or do I need to compensate up or down in size to get a good fit
