I have HOCM and my mother and her father had it, too. My mum passed away last year by sudden heart death at age 72. Maybe because of the HOCM. Who knows. She never had any symtoms. I'm 42 and have typical symptoms like chest pain and shortness of breath if I'm only walking a few steps or just when I lay down. Especially high temperatures in Summer are very exhausting. It sucks.
