People say goodbyes are sad because it's a deep and heavy pain in your chest. They say it drowns you, pulls you under water like heavy stones. They say it makes you voiceless, quiet, breathless even.
But that is not what goodbyes feel like.

Goodbyes don't just hurt. Goodbyes rip you apart. They make you forget how to act, how to feel, how to think. There is anger and desperation. There is a heavy heavy question mark right there on your heart. Some days it is quiet and you can try to ignore it's presence. But sometimes it screams. It's excruciating. That question mark will never leave you. It will never stop screaming.
"Why? Why? Why?" all over and over and over. It doesn't get exhausted. Only you do.
That is what goodbyes feel like. Like fire burning you from the inside. Like endless undeserved memories. Like unfairness. Like there has to be a reason for all this even though you know there is none. Because you are the fool. You are left here and they are gone.
So no. Goodbyes don't just hurt....

They kill every little trust you had. And they take every hope left. And they make you feel unworthy of love.
That. That is what goodbyes feel like.
