In April I went to Rome with my confirmationclass as one of the teachers. We had a priest with us but the first night we went to a mass that was just celebrated somewhere. We went to the Basilica of st Paul outside the walls, and joined the mass there. Apparently it was the "Ambrosian rite" . The utter shock of disbelief when they started clapping during both Sanctus and Agnus Dei. People weren't kneeling at the consecration. People just taking the Body of our Lord straight out from the ciborium. The list goes on. Just awful, and we now had to explain it all to the confirmation class us the teachers being rather TLM-fantasts just trying to teach them well and a NO living priest. The state of Rome is just horrible.
Sidenote: me and my friend thought that there would be so many affordable mantillas in Rome. But there were NONE. In the end we asked around and found a store. They were hidden in a box in the back invisible to everyone.

I like the label "traditionalist", I NEED to separate myself from the Novus Ordo Catholics. Maybe we should call them "New Catholics" and then we traditionalists could just be Catholics again.

Alright, let's say I go to a country that's not well churched. Let's say Japan. I go to a small town in the country side. The only Roman Catholic Parish I can find that's a realistic distance to travel too at least weekly is about 30-45 minutes by train ride and walking. But...They are Novus Ordo Catholics.

Should I bite the bullet or just say the rosary by myself, and forsake my regular fellowship with others.

I have a different perspective. May not be popular among your commentators. I don’t see contradiction here. Anglican Clergy are not equivalent to Catholic Priests but we can recognise that they are leaders within a body that subsists within the one church united by a common baptism. There is sin and division but we are praying for and working towards healing and unity. So a gesture like this could be seen as progress towards unity. Come Holy Spirit create us afresh! I think you should be able to have a traditional mass though.

It history of the church why eliminate it? If the priest and parishioners want to have one Latin mass a week why not? What Rome is going to collapse? Bad management gets bad results! Never surrender!
