Whit, Gio, Laureano & Bear are carrying the offense now. Harris had a good game - and a really lucky boof helped him for the winner...

Tell you what I really am impressed at these widened strike zones that strangely only Braves opponents tend to get. Real mystery of modern baseball I tell you

Man, I hope Call is alright. I hate achilles injuries. He was having a good season for the Nats, too.

At 8 minutes, watching the turn for the double play Orlando made with that beautiful jump and throw, then watching CJ Abrams make a little league crap toss one hop to cost his team the game, you understand why Orlando provides value even when he's not hitting as well as he did last year. Coincidentally happens in a game where his bat started to really show a lot more life

A win is a win, but the Braves have left so many runners on base this season that the lost and found department is having to open a new warehouse.

Notes from the Game:
+ *CHRIS SALE CONTINUES TO MAKE HIS MARCH FOR THE NL CY YOUNG! 7 Innings of 2-Run, 9-Hit Ball, Walking 1 and Striking Out 4 in a SHOCKING No-Decision!* Sale remains at 14-3 with an ERA of 2.62! WASN'T FAZED By the 2-Run 4th, and FINISHED STRONG!
+ *THE BULLPEN CONTINUES TO LOCK THINGS DOWN! Jimenez and Iglesias Combine to SHUTDOWN THE NATIONALS Over the Final 3 Innings, Allowing Just 1 Hit while Striking Out 1! Rasiel Iglesias gets his 3rd Win of the Season in Relief, Hitting a Batter in the 10th, But Recording a K in the 9th!*
*ROTATION TOTAL: 10 Innings, 2 Runs, 10 Hits, 1 Walk, 5 Strike Outs, NO Home Runs Allowed!*

*0-9 WITH RISP... 6 MEN LEFT ON BASE... HOW THE HELL DID WE WIN THIS GAME?!*
+ *MONEY MIKE OPENS AND CLOSES THE CHECKBOOK ON THIS GAME! 1-5 WITH A GAME-OPENING SOLO SUPER MISSILE INTOTHEBULLPEN IN THE 1ST, AND A GAME-WINING REACH-ON-EPIC-FAILURE THANKS TO C.J. ABRAMS SPIKING THE BALL INTO CUMBERLAND MALL!* Harris Stands Firm with a .247 Average, .659 OPS, and 7 Home Runs on the Season!
+ *For all the HATE Orlando Arcia is getting from the Phillies Fans, HE'S STILL FIGHTIN' AND GRINDIN' GEARS ON EVERY AB! A 1-3 Night that saw him GET ROBBED MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT MANAGED TO GET THE GAME-TYING RBI SAC FLY IN THE 7TH!* Arcia Holds onto a .225 Average with an OPS of .626! Being Real though: I'D KEEP HIM IN THE 9-SPOT. Best to let him Cook there and see if he can get SIZZLIN'!
- OTHER NOTABLES: Ramon Laureano had the MOST HITS of ANY Starter on either Team, going 3-4. Gio Urshela, Whit Merrifield, and Marcell Ozuna were the ONLY Other Braves to get a Hit. NO Brave recorded a SINGLE WALK, And THREE Starters Went 0-4 Tonight: A Returning Jorge Soler (0-4, 2 Ks), Matt Olson (0-4, 1 K), and Sean Murphy (0-4, 2 Ks).

+ *ANOTHER GAME THE BRAVES DID NOT DESERVE TO WIN, AND YET WE PULL IT OFF! SALE WAS GREAT AGAIN, THE BULLPEN LOCKED THINGS DOWN, AND DESPITE GOING 0-9 WITH RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION.... WE WON?!* Only By the Grace of God...
+ Thanks to the Royals Taking Care of the Phillies Tonight, the Braves are now within 5 GAMES for the NL Division Lead! So You're saying there's a Chance...

*TOMORROW:*
ROUND 2 OF 3 Between the Nationals and Braves will take place under the Evening Skies of Truist Park.
Jake Irvin will take the rubber for the Nationals, who hasn't had the best of Augusts, but has been Battling. He's Coming Off an Admirable, but Rough Outing against the Phillies, allowing 4 Runs on 8 Hits, Walking 1 and Striking Out 5 in 6 Innings of Work. However, he did get a No-Decision as a Result.

*Meanwhile, Charlie Morton will take up Battle Stations for the Braves in another CRUCIAL Game in this Homestand. He's coming off a Respectable Outing in Anaheim, where he allowed just 1 Run on 2 Hits, Walking 2 and Striking Out 7 in 5 1/3 Innings, and managing to earn the VICTORY!*

*Can Morton and the Braves Claim another CRUCIAL SERIES VICTORY?*
Or will Irvin and the Nationals have something to say against the Tomahawk Chop?
*We Will Find Out at 7:20 P.M. EDT on MASN (Nationals) and Bally Sports Southeast (Braves)!*

SoundFX09, Signing Out!

I am fed up with Soler's lack of hustle in the outfield. Lollygaggin on the field. Lollygaggin off the field. You what that makes him? A lollygagger. Get him out.

38 straight outs by Raphael, braves still struggling with runners in scoring position, but we're pulling it out, meanwhile we're gaining ground on the Phillies
