CPO 2 Stevens joined the Infantry Reserves through the Aboriginal Entry Program and jumped at the chance to join Regular Force as a Sonar Operator in the Navy. While in Thunder Bay, onboard HMCS Halifax, a local chief came to the ship and presented an eagle feather to the crew’s Indigenous members. That day started him on a path to discover his culture, native language and become the Indigenous Advisor to the Chaplain General.

Thirty years conforming to a dress standard. I can't wrap my head around this strange aberation of personal deportment. Long hair is dangerous in confined spaces and rotatng equipment. Harder to keep clean too long hours of work and hardship. I don't think it looks good.

I would like to learn about native culture. When I went to the ROM exhibit and saw an indigenous painting, it made a profound and lasting imprint on my soul. Even until today. How can I get in contact with you?
